Dobsons work on a range of commercial and industrial projects. No two projects are the same and Dobsons strives to deliver an excellent standard of work no matter what challenges each job presents. Below is a snapshot of some of the commercial projects we have worked on over the years.
Preston Rowe Paterson
Dobsons had the pleasure of working on the new office fit-out for local business Preston Rowe Paterson in 2020. We supplied the full data, electrical, air-conditioning and ventilation fit-out under client iLine Construction. A new office fit-out is sometimes a complex job as there are many different facets to consider. Dobsons likes to work with the client and customer to provide expert solutions, whilst also adhering to the design, ensuring we deliver an end result all parties are happy with.
Dobsons supplied the general power and lighting fit-out for the office. We provided the installation of all lighting and power points throughout the office including a 60-way switchboard. This involved installing 4 x 20amp power supplies to the ceiling above, the future work stations, in the open-plan office area. The Data components of the fit-out involved installing a data cabinet and 85 data outlets as well as a cable support system for new data cables into a ceiling cavity. Dobsons also installed all the exit and emergency lighting.
Lastly, Dobsons was charged with the complete air-conditioning and ventilation installation throughout the office. This included the installation of three ducted air-conditioning units for the open plan and small area spaces and the boardroom. The supply of each unit is determined by Dobsons expert salesperson who determines the appropriate kilowattage for each space the unit is servicing. The ventilation system supplied included a swirl diffuser and return grills plus VAV grills to supply fresh air into the smaller spaces.
Oji Fiber Solutions
The Tokyo based company Oji Fibre Solutions, base the majority of their operations in New Zealand where they are the major manufacturer of kraft pulps, packaging paper and products. Dobsons was contracted by Watts & Hughes to do the electrical, ventilation and air-conditioning for the office re-fit out that was constructed in Mount Maunganui in 2019.
Dobsons was charged with the supply and installation of all the lighting throughout both the office and the warehouse. This involved the installation of all the cables and cable support systems as well as lights, and power outlets. Our specialised team of electricians had no problem completing the job on time while adhering to the plans.
With our wide range of services, we were also selected to carry out the supply and install of the ventilation and air-conditioning throughout the office. The office space spanned multiple levels which created challenges in the installation of the outdoor AC units. Our solution was to install the outdoor units on the roof using specialised mounting clips and fixings to ensure the stability of the units and a tidy appearance.
